New York City’s most popular pizza joint is coming to South Beach

Artichoke Pizza

Where can you find the best pizza, New York City or Miami?

Your answer to that question might change in the next two weeks, when Manhattan’s Artichoke Basille’s Pizza takes over the kitchen at Ricky’s South Beach. The East Village pizzeria, famous for its creamy artichoke slice (and proverbial lines, especially at 3am), is opening its 12th location inside the Miami Beach bar/restaurant on July 20th.

It’s not a pop-up; Ricky’s new menu will be helmed by Artichoke founders, Francis Garcia and Sal Basille. That means guests can order slices and whole pies, including the Sicilian—a twice-baked pizza topped with olive oil, plum tomatoes and fresh basil—and the classic Artichoke—cheesy, creamy and topped with artichoke hearts, spinach, cream sauce, mozzarella and pecorino romano cheese.

Wrap-around-the-block lines, the kinds New Yorkers are used to making for a late-night slice, are to be expected—but we promise they’re so, so worth it.

Courtney Love Chills at Rickys

Courtney Love, who did a little Art Baseling and has expressed a penchant for fine Miami dining at places like Upland and Alter, took some time off from her Kansas City Choir Boy show Thursday to kick back with friends at the recently opened Ricky’s on South Beach for their weekly Thursday live rock music night. Love, wearing a black, gold, and blue metallic floral patterned dress and glittery eye makeup, showed up to the kitschy 80s-inspired bar/restaurant with a few friends around midnight, settling into a table where she was seen smoking and enjoying the live music for about an hour. The 52-year-old godmother of grunge was, to some onlookers’ dismay, pretty mellow and, well, mature. No ass implants or twerking from her–yet. Stay tuned. Article from The Savvy Gadfly.

Bodega – Best ‘Secret’ Bars In Miami

When it comes to tacos, there’s rarely something more authentic (and unnerving) than getting them from an old, graffiti-covered garage with cardboard food signs, a tiny taco truck, and a battered, indoor porta-potty scribbled with “BAÑOS.” But, go through that bright-blue crapper door and you’ll step right into the 305 version of Narnia: a swanky, two-story speakeasy-lounge with vintage couches, a long wooden bar, mas tequila, and lit wall-messages that are just so… Miami.
How to get in: Seriously, look for the porta-potty door marked “Baños.”
